Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co.，Ltd (Anpon), first established in 1958, is located in Huaian city, Jiangsu Province, China, at the riverside of the Beijing-Hangzhou Great Canal. Since Huaian city is the junction of three highways and there is a railway station nearby Anpon has good transportation convenience. As a comprehensive and large-sized chemical enterprise Anpon covers an area of 0.665million M2 with the total assets of USD80million. Anpon has employees of 1960 of which more than 600 are technicians.
Anpon produces 25 products in categories of chloro-alkali series, agrochemicals and fine chemicals. Chloro-alkali products: caustic soda, liquefied chlorine, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite. Agrochemicals: buprofezin, monosultap, bisultap, cartap, pymetrozine, endosulfan, glyphosate, diuron, ethephon. Intermediates: phosphorous trichloride(PCl3), ortho-toluidine, hexachlorocyclopentadiene(HCCP), N－(Phosphonomethyl)- iminodiacetic acid (PMIDA), n-butyl isocyanate(NBI), propargyl butyl carbamate(PBC), 3,4-dichloro phenyl isocyanate(3,4-DCPI). Other fine chemicals includes fire retardants: chlorendic anhydride, bis (hexachlorocyclopentadieno)-cyclooctane (CFR); Biocides: iodopropynyl butyl carbamate (IPBC), triclocarban (TCC) and raw material used in anticorrosive paint: Chlorinated rubber.
There is huge storage of rock salt in Huaian city and Anpon has a salt mine of itself covering an area of 1.8 km 2 which reserves about 110million tons of sodium chloride. The brine is drawed up and sent to the electrolytic facility by pipeline. Anpon takes great advantage of raw materials in developing its chloro-alkali industry.
Anpon has well-coordinated utilities including 110KV and 35KV transformer, power and steam station with power generating capacity of 40,000KW/H and steam supply capacity of 320MT/H, water supply system with capacity of 35,000MT/D, refrigeration system with capacity of 37,600,000KJ/H, a biochemical wastewater treatment facility of 1000T/D and incinerator of 5T/D.
Anpon is strong in technological research and development. Jiangsu Provincial Salt Chemical Engineering & Technological Center is based on Anpon. This Center has a research institute, an engineering institute, a pilot trial workshop and an information center. More than 100 technicians work here.
Anpon’s quality system was certified with ISO 9001 standard in 1998, Environment management system with ISO14001 standard in 2004, Inspection measurement and test system with ISO10012 standard in 2003.

History
The first name of the company in 1958 is Qingjiang Electrochemical Plant, and then renamed as Qingjiang pesticide Plant and Huaiyin Electrochemical Plant. In May, 2003 the present private shareholders buy the company from the government and named Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co, Ltd. From its modest beginning Anpon has developed and manufactured chlortoluron, dichlovos, trichlorfon, phosgene, ortho-toluidiene, ethephon, buprofezin, hexachlorocyclopentadiene and other chemicals and pesticides. Its output capability of caustic soda is expanded from 500MT/A at beginning to the present 150,000MT/A. Anpon has been awarded many tiles such as “clean factory”, “ten top environment friendly enterprises” and etc.
